- This was the fifth H2 produced at AM General’s Mishawaka, Indiana, plant.
- It is one of several pilot models built to test assembly procedures and was not certified for public sale.
- When Studebaker closed its South Bend plant in December of 1963, its military contracts were acquired by the Kaiser-Jeep Corporation, which was later purchased by American Motors (which in turn created the AM General Corporation in 1971).
