1962 Avanti Panel Test Body

·         This is a full-size Avanti body built by Studebaker’s Engineering Department used to evaluate the bodies and panels built by the Molded Fiber Glass Body Company of Ohio.

·         There are many hand-written measurements on the body made by Studebaker’s employees.

·         Using fiberglass lowered the tooling costs for the Avanti from as much as $20 million to just $1 million.
