Product Details
The 1953 Starliner is considered by many Studebaker’s design masterpiece.
The Starliner’s design was a product of Raymond Loewy Associates, under the direction of designer Robert Bourke.
The streamlined Starliner stood in stark contrast to the competition’s upright and perpendicular design themes, and sat 6 inches lower than its peers.
Studebaker used a three-pointed star design motif in early 1953, but it was removed mid-year after a complaint from Mercedes-Benz.
