Three large lead-acid batteries powered a 40-volt Westinghouse motor, located under the seat.
The Runabout includes a top, which was not a standard feature on Studebaker electrics.
Though not built for long-distance touring, the Runabout could get 30-50 miles on a charge—more than enough for a pleasure trip around town.
